Switzerland Ambassador in Egypt Paul Garnier visits Tunis village Fayoum
The Embassy covers all aspects of diplomatic relations between the two countries; fostering political, economic and cultural relations, providing consular services to Swiss citizens in Egypt, and investing in development cooperation in areas such as democratic transition, economic development, migration and protection and environment. During their 40 years of bilateral cooperation, Switzerland and Egypt have developed strong ties based on mutual interest and trust. With the new cooperation programme for the period 2021–24, which is in line with the relevant strategic frameworks of the Swiss government, Switzerland is demonstrating its continued commitment towards Egypt, aimed at supporting the country’s efforts in further reforming the economy, improving its governance, protecting human rights and promoting peace as well as an inclusive society, at the same time addressing the challenges of migration in the region. Aligned with the development priorities of Egypt, Switzerland will focus its technical assistance more on gender and skills development, supporting a greener economy and making urbanization more sustainable.
